Peninsula Players Spotlight Newsletter
Happy New Year Everyone!
We’d like to thank everybody in the crew and cast who worked so hard to make “Cinderella” a success, including our lovely audiences who came out to see the shows. There was lots of yelling and cheering and that’s what having a good time is all about with a pantomime. While we lost our beloved Dick Mells in November, we can only hope that he was looking down from on high and enjoying every minute of this wonderful show that he wrote.

Audition Notice for ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’
Our next production will be “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde. Geoffrey Davidson will be directing and he plans on giving it a new twist by setting it in the mod 60’s. Final audition dates will be this Sunday, January 13th at 7:00pm at the Peninsula Players Clubhouse at the former Saanichton Elementary School at 1649 Mount. Newton Crossroad. We especially need guys to come out!
If acting is not your thing there will be openings for many backstage positions. Maybe you’ve always wanted to try being a stage manager, a producer, helping with costumes, props, set building or painting. You will get all the support you need. If your New Year’s resolution is to get out and meet more people and be active in the community then come join our theater family. It’s fun! Fill out the Membership form at:
The Odd Couple (Female Version)
There’s been a change in our season, and we will no longer be doing “Up the Down Staircase” in the spring. Instead, our production will be “The Odd Couple,” the female version. This is always a crowd favourite, and we’re excited to present this Neil Simon in late May.
Our own Shawna Adams will be in “Singin’ in the Rain” at the McPherson Theater. This will be Kaleidoscope Theater’s 16th Annual Fundraising Gala.
Performances are on April 12th and 13th at 8:00pm and Sunday April 14th at 2:00pm

Things that the executive committee are working on, and great things to look forward to, are Peninsula Players First Gala Fundraising Event, and theater “how to” workshops. We plan on offering workshops for acting and directing in the near future. Tell us what else you’d like to see.
If you have news, email me, Jan, at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll be happy to report your next theatrical adventure.
That’s a wrap, see you next time!
